Hola amigos!

La fin est proche, ça se sent/resent. Nous avons quitté Tulum et la super auberge de jeunesse, le coeur gros.

Nous voilà de retour à Cancun. Nous avons décidé de retourner dans l'auberge où je suis allée quand j'ai attendu l'arrivée de Damien. Sauf que cette fois, nous avons pris une chambre particulière. 

Un compagnon nous attendait sur le lit, et les toilettes étaient décorés d'un très joli noeud en PQ! Sympa comme accueil!

J'ai emmené Damien là où j'étais allé diner avec les filles. L'endroit est complètement différent de jour! Nous avons pris notre déjeuner avec les locaux, que de choix! Chaque case est un "resto" different, et tout le monde mange au milieu et les enfants jouent dans les jeux juste à côté. C'était très sympa.

Petit passage à la gare pour savoir à quelle heure il y a des bus pour l'aéroport demain. Après un petit tour pour digérer le tout, nous sommes rentrés à l'auberge et nous avons profité du jacuzzi et des ordi, pour le reste de l'après-midi.

La soirée s'est déroulé la tête dans les sacs à dos, pour être sur que tout rentre!

Buenas muchachos!

Today we are going to visit the ruins of Tulum! The pictures in my book are stunning so I am really looking forward to it! We decided to go  early, and show up at the time it is supposed to open, for two reasons: 1- avoid the crowds, 2- avoid the heat. We kind of managed to do the 1st one and the second one two and it was a good idea because the site has got nearly no shade at all!

After the ruins, we decided to go for a swim, the day was becoming way to hot to stay dry, plus all the crowds already arrived by buses. So we went back to the beach of our first day in Tulum. We found a place where we could be alone and we spent the rest of the morning there.

We went back to the hostel, not doing the same mistake as our first day, we took a "collectivo". Later that day, we went, in the afternoon, back to the cenote Cristalino, we really liked the cool water and the trees to keep us in the shade.

We ate on the main road in a small street food restaurant later that evening. We ate various quesadillas and Damien was brave enough to try the local drink: agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus tea). Unfortunately, he paid the price for his bravery later that night.  :S

After diner, we went to an internet café, me : to check mails and update the blog and Damien : for his fantasy football team!

Hola, qué tal ?

Aujourd'hui on va se la couler douce! On n'a pas arrêté depuis le début et puis c'est bientôt la fin pour Damien :( alors on profite l'un de l'autre! Démarrage plutôt tardif de la journée. On a sauté dans un "collectivo" direction Cenote Cristalino.

Qu'est-ce qu'une cenote vous pouvez vous demander? C'est un gouffre rempli d'eau douce. Cenote Cristalino est la plus populaire aux alentours de Playa del Carmen et Tulum. On y retrouve famille locales et touristes.

C'est très agréable ce s'y baigner car l'eau est fraiche, et les poissons vous font un massage des pieds en vous picorant les peaux mortes. Les cenotes sont souvent profondes et celle de Cristalino permet aux aventureux de faire un concours de sauts. C'est très sympa et convivial.

En fin d'aprem, nous sommes rentrés à l'auberge, puis un peu plus tard nous avons décidé de sortir diner. Nous nous sommes arrêtés dans un restaurant français (après quelques hésitations - le prix surtout - mais ça en vallait la peine!!). Le nom du resto: "Le Bistro". 

Nous nous sommes posés dans la terrasse à l'arrière du restaurant. La nourriture était excellente! J'ai mangé de la BAVETTE!!!! Les voisins ont installé un vidéo projecteur sur un drap blanc et ils ont projeté un film pour les enfants, l'ambiance était très sympa!

Après un bon repas, et un retour à l'auberge. Petit passage sur internet puis au lit. Demain on va visiter Tulum!

Hola amigos!

Time to leave Cozumel and go back to the main land. We are off to Tulum, but first we need to tack the boat back to Playa del Carmen (I am not looking forward to it).

After the 45 minutes journey, and the 30 minutes I needed to recover, we headed for Playa del Carmen bus station one more time. This time we understood why we got lost when we arrived, the town has two bus station, an ultra modern one and an old one that not a lot of people use anymore.

When we arrived, I went straight to the counter asking them if by any chance they found a guide book, I lost mine when we came, and I was hopelessly hoping it was still there. The woman replied "in French", I said yes, she showed me the book and it was my guide book that I lost 3 days earlier that belongs to my grandma. I was over the moon!!

After that small incident, we took our bus to Tulum. Once in Tulum, we looked for an hostel called "Casa del Sol" that we found after a bit of a struggle. Tulum seems to be a really strange city, it is mainly a big road separating the town in two and on each side shops or restaurants but no more than 2-3 streets deep.

We took a "collectivo" direction the ruins of Tulum, we knew we would visit them the following day, but I wanted to see where it was and walk along the beach and rest!! I loved it, white sandy beach, turquoise water, a little bit of wind to keep us not too hot. I took a snooze, Damien went for a walk.

We decided to go back walking, we figured that the drive was not that long, so it should not be a problem. But we were (I was) wrong... After walking along the beach, we followed the road, but this one was the longest road ever, and our water supply was really low, luckily the sun was going down so it was not too hot, but we were really tired and it took us a really long time to arrive.

I retraced on the internet our walking itinary, we walked 7 km !!! So no surprise if I tell you that we did not do much that evening, rest and slept a lot. Tomorrow we are going to try a cenote! Stay tuned!

Hola todos!

Aujourd'hui, nous avons commencé la journée avec plongée sous-marine. Malgré le manque de corail près de l'île, l'homme nous a assuré hier, qu'un peu plus loin et un peu plus profond, on verrait des merveilles. Il n'a pas menti, nous avons vu de nombreux poissons colorés, de nombreux hippocampes et une tortue!! Malheureusement notre appareil photo aquatique jetable, n'avait pas la profondeur requise, donc nous l'avons laissé à bord, merci Google pour les photos! 

Ensuite, on a pris le scooter et en route pour faire le tour de l'île. D'ailleurs petite panique car le compteur de carburant ne fonctionnait pas et on a eu super peur de se retrouver au milieu de nul part sans essence... Heureusement ce n'est pas arrivé.

On a fait une halte en bout d'île, pour ce rafraichir un peu. La plage n'avait aucun touriste étranger, que des locaux avec leurs enfants, c'était très sympa. 

Ensuite nous sommes tranquillement rentrés, nous avons rendu le scooter (et j'ai récupéré ma caution!), petit diné en amoureux et soirée calme à l'auberge. Demain on retourne sur le continent, puis direction Tulum.
